Training in

Tai Chi

and

Bagua:

Tai Chi is a slow gentle martial art good for all ages and adaptable to many physical limitations. Tai Chi is a relaxing art focusing on correct body postures and how one moves to develop greater energy (chi).

Bagua is a dynamic martial art focusing on generating power from the feet through the waist and out through the extremities. Bagua is well known for its effectiveness in dealing with multiple opponents at one time and is also considered an advanced form of moving meditation.

Student Testimony

“This is Robert Peterson and I would like to recommend Troy Hodges as a Tai Chi instructor. He really makes you feel comfortable, and he’s so knowledgeable in the field. Within no time you can understand what Tai Chi is about, including standing meditation and meditation with movement. It’s very relaxing and cleansing.”

“I’ve been taking Tai Chi classes from Troy since November 2023 once a week. Unfortunately I missed a few of the classes. Nonetheless, Troy has been very patient with me.

Troy explains all the moves and poses in detail. He moves slowly so he is easily followed. When he corrects our poses, he doesn’t single anyone out which I appreciate.

Tai Chi is very relaxing. It flows gently so it is not hard on your body and has so many health benefits. I think Troy is very knowledgeable and is a great instructor. I would highly recommend his classes and Tai Chi.”

“Troy is very knowledgeable. More than that he is patient and cares about the success of his students. Troy listens to individuals then adjusts and adapts lessons. He demonstrates slowly and carefully. My learning experience in Tai Chi is valuable and rewarding.”

“I’ve been training with Troy for almost 2 years now in both Tai Chi and Bagua. I had previous martial arts experience and some military training. This type of training is quite different from those experiences and compliments all that I have learned. I so look forward to our training time each week and see myself continuing it for the foreseeable future. I find that this training develops the whole person and is something I would recommend to anyone who wants to become not only better at self defense but healthier in many aspects of your life. This seems to clearly be a calling, a passion and a purpose in Troy’s life.
